Job Details Job Number: 001588 Position: Server Side Software Engineer #107 Job Type: Permanent Job Description: REQ # 107Server-Side Software Engineer – Database TeamMy client is seeking a full-time Senior Server-Side Software Engineer to join their Database and Content Applications Team, working on the Discover Product a breaking new ground in terms of improving the way people experience, find, and explore music and video. This is a unique opportunity to define the architectural and systems direction of a major product that will be used by millions of people. On a day-to-day basis, you will design and implement significant portions of code, leveraging your work across more than one product – you will be a key individual contributor in the company. From a technical perspective, you will have total command of server-side database and application development technologies and be able to build world-class software rapidlyQUALIFICATIONS• B.S. Computer Science, B.S. Electrical Engineering, B.S. Management Information Systems, or equivalent.• Produced three or more complex commercial software applications or software technologies.• Expert knowledge of Database Technologies and Methodologies (8+ years)• Expert database programming, debugging techniques, and performance tuning, preferably Oracle 10g (8+ years)• Expert with at least two of the following programming languages (6+ years):o Java, C, C++, python, perl, ruby, php• Expert with UNIX as a development and deployment platform (6+ years).• Expert in server-side application development and 24/7/365 batch and daemon processes (6+ years).• Expert in a form of source code control software (perforce, cvs, etc.) (6+ years)• Strong experience solving Data Conversion, Validation, Transformation, and Load (ETL) problems using technologies such as Java, XML, XSLT, perl, and RDBMS (4+ years)• Excellent ability to learn systems and processes by reading code.• Excellent written and oral communication skills.• Excellent planning and estimating skills.• Self motivated and works independently.• Generates, enhances, and promotes new ideas.• Accepts ownership of important server-side processes.Please contact: Mark Dovemarkdove@chiefpeople.com415 541-7999 Location: Emeryville CA To apply for this job and others, return to the job list, check related boxes, and then click "Submit Your Resume".
