Sportvision can be found on the web at www.sportvision.com.Position Summary:Sportvision is actively seeking a strong operational executive to assume the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in Mountain View, CA. This role is responsible for planning, recruiting and managing a world class technology team and helping create the next generation of technology products. This person will join our executive team and be responsible for advancing the technology platform and crafting the technology strategy and roadmap to achieve the company's goals. The executive will also have overall responsibility for directing both R&D and technology development. We require a candidate who is hands-on and can make decisions of strategic nature impacting the overall competitive position of our organization. Industry experience in the following areas is strongly preferred: Software Development, Video, Computer Vision, and/or Digital Media. Experience in Broadcast Media is an additional Plus.Implementation and Deployment:• Lead the software development and hardware engineering teams• Develop internal procedures, processes, deployment methodologies, and objectives across technical groups to increase productivity, efficiencies and revenue opportunities• Provide leadership in defining product requirements and oversee technical development • Select, deploy, and monitor performance profiling tools and procedures• Act as the architectural evangelist, socializing and marketing the benefits of key architectural initiatives to senior leaders throughout the organization, defining and driving common architectural standards across the organizationOperational Management:• Attract, coach, retain and motivate a world class team of Software Developers, Engineering professionals, and Operations professionals.• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development practices• Ensure that technology standards and processes are maintained across the organization• Share knowledge, mentor, and educate the organization's investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders• Monitor and Protect Company’s proprietary & confidential information through filing patents, maintaining trade secret and confidentiality policies and maintaining excellent records of our research and development (lab books, design notes, etc)Qualifications/Required Skills:• 10+ years of experience of software development for innovative technology companies• 8+ years of experience successfully building, managing, motivating and mentoring world class engineering teams• 7+ years of experience in top technology leadership positions developing, delivering and supporting critical products• Expertise with digital media, video, and high end web applications• Extensive cross functional leadership over engineering, IT, Operations and QA• Knowledgeable of current technology in Media, Computer Vision and Broadcast• – able to be hands on when needed• Understands from an engineering perspective what is required to get projects completed• Post graduate degree in engineering, computer science or related technical field, or equivalent experience. • Proven success setting goals, meeting milestones, and delivering product via effective organization and management• Excellent strategic planning skills• Ability to communicate well across diverse teamsAttributes:• Highly motivated, inspired overachiever• Entrepreneurial mindset - thrives in a dynamic, emerging environment• Passionate about creating innovative technology• Comfortable in the role of change agent• Direct communicator• A listener, a collaborator• Relies on influencing others rather than only exerting authority of position• Ability to think strategically while also executing multiple projects on deadline• Superb verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; fluency interfacing with both technical and management teamsWe offer a casual environment, competitive compensation package, and excellent benefits.
