Job Description:
We are looking for an IBM Mainframe Systems Engineer to serve as an expert in hardware/software systems engineering. In this role, the contractor will undertake the most complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. This person must make well-thought-out decisions on the most complex or ambiguous hardware/software systems engineering issues and will be asked to ensure that system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency.
This person will design, develop, test, debug and implement the most complex hardware/software components, tools, and utilities. He or she will make the most complex modifications to existing hardware/software to fit specialized needs and configurations and must establish and communicate common goals and direction for the team. This person will act as a source of direction, training and guidance for less experienced staff and will monitor project schedules and costs.
We are looking for candidates with at least eight years of technical software and hardware analysis, programming and installation. Three years of project management experience is preferred.
