Job Description:
A Sr. Programmer Analyst with strong J2EE & WebLogic experience is needed for a permanent position with a Columbus, Ohio company. This position is responsible for evaluating complex client area requirements and processes (e.g., new, enhancements or maintenance) and prepares application system specifications. The PA develops, tests, and implements efficient, cost effective application solutions which may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work with management to identify and specify complex business requirements.
• Research and evaluate alternative solutions and create proposals to meet business needs.
• Analyze existing systems against IT and business strategies and make well-defined recommendations and execution plans for efficiency and architecture/design improvements within and outside the execution of current projects.
• Design new subsystems or major enhancements to existing systems in line with architecture team’s governance.
• Perform the role of technical lead for small to medium-size projects.
• Responsible and accountable for meeting the expectations of the project sponsor
• Lead development efforts for various support / operational areas
• Create software artifacts from which the system will be created for developers.
• Review physical and technical designs of systems, ensuring sound decisions are being made.
• Perform/ensure quality assurance by reviewing testing results and performing code reviews
• Share and mentor others, new technologies, design techniques, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in IT, typically 6 or more years
• Minimum 4 years Java experience
• Minimum 2 years J2EE experience
• Experience with XML Schema, web services, EJB 2.1 design and development
• Strong understanding of message based systems
• Strong grasp of typical J2EE design patterns
• Experience with a design tool such as Rational Rose, Enterprise Architect, etc.
• Experience with RDBMS
• Experience with BEA’s WebLogic Server
• Experience with Hibernate and Spring framework preferred
• Experience with Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tools such as BEA’s WebLogic Integration, Tibco’s BusinessWork, or webMethods’ Enterprise Service Platform is preferred
• Experience using XQuery helpful
• Experience with continuous integration environments preferred
• Experience with Oracle 9i, 10g preferred
• Experience with performance tuning high volume J2EE applications using performance testing and analysis tools preferred
• Demonstrated ability to understand and translate complex business concepts into sound, reusable designs. • Solid technical documentation skills (e.g. functional and technical specifications)
• Requires experience with Object Oriented Analysis and Design and the ability to mentor others in its use
• Broad knowledge of systems and application program development technological alternatives.
• Demonstrated leadership capability.
• Strong judgment skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with clients and IT management and staffs.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple business areas.
• Ability and desire to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
